First consultation on work package 5: Prevention of
antibiotic residues
Meeting in Kiel, May 14-15th, 2001
Variable milking frequencies during automatic milking may lead to different
excretion characteristics of antibiotic residues in milk after treatment of
cows. Penicillins and cephalosporines have been selected for first treatment
trials under experimental conditions. These substances are the most frequently
applied for mastitis therapy in European countries. Present experiments study
the excretion with milking frequencies deviating from conventional milking.
