First consultation on work package 6: Effectiveness of automatic cleaning of udder and teats and effects of hygiene management

Meeting in Kiel, May 14-15th, 2001 
Methods have to be developed for evaluation of teat cleaning procedures applied in automatic milking systems. The most promising approaches seem to be the measurement of transfer of contaminating substances from teat surfaces into milk. Experiments are set up to test artificial or natural contamination of teats. Optimized methods for evaluation will be applied to the AM systems.
