First consultation on work package 8: Health of dairy cows milked by an automatic milking system

The work partners from Denmark, the Netherlands and the UK met in Lelystad on 22/23 May to discuss and agree data recording methods. Initial visits to farms, especially in the Netherlands and the UK have been much delayed by necessary security to manage Foot and Mouth Disease. Installations of AMS have also been significantly delayed. It is likely that field visits will start in June for farms installing an AMS in late 2001. Work is also proceeding on developing data capture forms, electronic data transfer methods and building the work package Access database.
